Hamilton Beach 70740 8-Cup Food Processor

Small But Powerful, The Hamilton Beach 70740 Food Processor Is A Big Help In The Kitchen – Review and Customer Ratings

Hamilton Beach 70740 8-Cup Food Processor

As an ex Quality Assurance Manager of 10 years in a small fabric of kitchen appliances, I can claim that I truly know the industry and all the fine mechanisms that keep it going. That’s why I decided to write this review, and hopefully get you one step closer to finding the best food processor for your home.

But first, let’s see how we’ll organize this thing:

  1. We’ll list all of the product specifications
  2. Then we’ll take a closer look at all of the positive and negative end user reviews
  3. At the very end, I’ll rate this product and determine if it’s worth your money or not

Proceed to amazon.com for the latest customer feedback.

Let’s start with the product specifications:

  • A much better solution than chopping food by hand
  • You can easily and quickly chop onions, shred cabbage, mix sauces, slice salad ingredients, prepare pesto or grate cheese
  • 2 speeds and pulse control
  • Stainless steel shred and slice discs and a chopping blade included
  • 450-watt powerful motor

Now for the positive end user reviews:

  • I was looking for a smaller food processor that is still powerful enough to fit all my needs. I’m really happy with this product…
  • It chops up potatoes in seconds. It also grates cheese quickly and efficiently…
  • This thing is really easy to clean and store. I just love how the whole process of making baby food, cleaning and storing this product takes only minutes out of my day…
  • This is a really handy machine, and just the perfect size. 8-cups capacity is perfect for larger batches, when we have friends over, or even when we cook for just the two of us.
  • The lower blade really chops everything you put in it. There are no unprocessed chunks of food left that I have to chase with my fingers.
  • The motor is wickedly strong, yet so quiet. So much better than my blender at making baby food and salsa.
  • It’s really easy to fix on your counter because of these rubber feet it has. It doesn’t move around the counter when it’s on. I ordered another one to give as a gift to my best friend.
  • You definitely can’t beat this quality at this price. It’s just so inexpensive for a food processor of this size and quality. We’ve been using it daily for little over a year now, and we couldn’t be more satisfied.
  • I love how I can now slice, chop and dice all of the vegetables I need for my all-time favorite dish in seconds…
  • I just pop in some carrots, cabbage and onions, and they are evenly cut and wok ready…
  • There is absolutely no sliding around the kitchen counter when you’re using it, and it’s really user-friendly. It’s really easy to clean as well…
  • Saves me so much time in the kitchen on the whole food prep/clean up business. I really don’t know how I used to manage to chop everything by hand..
  • This product is really well-made and looks sturdy and like it’s going to last me a long time. Totally worth every penny…
  • It has the most important features I require from a food processor: it has the pulse option, and it’s easy to clean. I just rinse it with hot water and I’m done…
  • Great at anything I’ve tried to chop so far with it, even the “harder” food like carrots, potatoes, cheese…
  • It doesn’t leave uneven chunks, but neat little pieces I can easily cook. Great buy…
  • I’m totally going to go on more ventures and try out more recipes now that there is no more pre-cutting or doing anything by hand..
  • buy online at amazon and get a good offer

Now for the negative food processor reviews of the users – the CONs:

  • It has a square feed tube, and I find that awkward since, for example, cucumbers are round like most of the vegetables. Doesn’t make much sense and it’s not really practical.
  • Recently after making a purchase I broke the shredder blade, and when I looked into the warranty a little bit closer it said I had to cover the shipping expenses for it…not cool…
  • I was really hoping it would arrive with more options
  • Our food processor stopped working this morning after only few months of use. We are currently waiting for a replacement.

Now for my final review of this food processor:

Hamilton Beach 70740 8-Cup Food Processor reviewAfter many hours of close and careful examination of this product, and reading through every user review, I have reached a conclusion regarding this product, and I can assure you that I went into “Quality Assurance Manager” mode that I was used to for so long.

It is definitely a neat addition to any kitchen that will make your life a little bit easier, but most importantly- it’s a high-quality product at an affordable price.

The square-shaped feeding tube is designed to fit customers’ needs.

However, if you’re on a budget, this is solid choice.

KitchenAid 700-Watt 12-Cup Food Processor is very good – Appreciated by customers across US

KitchenAid 700-Watt 12-Cup Food Processors

If you are looking at the customer reviews, this baby might be one of the best choices for your home.

But here is the issue – you might be looking at reviews that became obsolete in the meantime.

Here’s why…

What if the company outsourced the production since the customer review was written?

I worked in the industry for years, I know every trick in the book and even for me, it’s getting increasingly difficult to stay on top of things.

Click here to check out actual buyers ratings on Amazon.com.

That’s why I came up with a simple system to ensure that only quality products have their place on my website. I stick with this 3 simple rules.

  1. I review products that are made in North America
  2. I review pieces that are made in Western Europe
  3. I remove the products from my website when I learn they are outsourced to a location I know might mess with the quality of a product

That’s how I ensure that the visitors of my website have only high quality food processors on their screens.

But, enough ramble, let’s dig into this review and see if this KitchenAid lives up to the expectations.

This review will be broken into 3 parts:

  1. We’ll take a look at what the company is saying
  2. We’ll take a look at what the customers have to say – both PROs and CONs
  3. I’ll interpret everything said and give my final verdict on whether I think this processor deserves to be in your kitchen

*when you look at the second rule, you might think: “But wait, she just said that the user review might become obsolete.” Let me remind you that I remove products that I learn are outsourced to fishy locations, so all of the experiences you’ll see here still stand.

So, let’s get straight into it:

The specifications of the food processor:

  • 700 watt strong, 12 cup volume bowl
  • highest quality blade (stainless steel)
  • very quiet (features a sealed housing design)
  • pulse control
  • two feed tubes ( one for the mini bowl with it’s own blade)
  • Smooth base makes cleaning easy
  • Safe to use in a dish-washer (bowls, blades, discs)
  • 16-1/8 x 8-5/16 x 10-2/5 ” in size
  • full 1 year warranty (complete replacement rights)

So, KitchenAid thinks highly of their product, but it’s only bragging until we see what the end users are saying – so let’s do that.

The positive customer review of this food processors – the PROs:

  • I bought this in 2011 and it’s still going strong…completely satisfied…
  • I heard they are not making this thing anymore, so I got an extra one that just sits in my closet. I think that says a lot about my experience with this product…
  • It chops everything from hard meat to veggies with ease…
  • I use this for a wide variety of jobs, made my kitchen life so much easier…
  • Just the right size for 99% of the jobs I need to do…
  • Love how the tube is very wide, I have to pre-cut things only with the long vegetables…
  • Just as advertised…
  • Well beyond my expectations, especially for the price…
  • I don’t know the reason behind KitchenAid discounting this piece every once in a while, but I am waiting for the next discount to get one for my sister…
  • It does everything from shredding cheese to making salsa…if only it could make my bed, too…
  • After six months of using this baby I can say that it’s a real bargain…
  • Bought this for a friend and she can’t stop talking about it…
  • I owned a processor that cost twice as much (it died a few months ago), so I got this one…I can’t really tell the difference so far…

The negative customer review of this food processors – the CONs:

  • My lid broke and I had to replace it…
  • I had this processor and loved it for over 3.5 years until the motor broke. Now they are saying that it will cost me over 50 bucks to send it back for diagnosis and see if can be repaired…disappointed, judging by the reviews I though this thing will go on for at least ten years…
  • Not a fan of the design and the colors…

My reviews resume:

If America’s Kitchen Test rates something as ‘best’ for years in a row, you can calmly get it without over thinking. I know how through these guys are with their reviews.

And if you find a product on my website, you can be sure that the quality hasn’t changed.

With this kind of products, I spend most of my time looking at the negative reviews and see if I can find any deal-breakers. Didn’t find any of those here. I found what I know are exceptions and simply cases of getting a flawed product. I am basing this on my experience of Quality Assurance Manager.

This is where the customer services steps in, and I know for a fact that Kitchen Aid is very customer friendly (hail to Brian 🙂 ).

Overall, great value for money and a solid investment.
